Lesson 5

Excel Exercise - Modeling the Cash Flow Statement

The Cash Flow statement is the final piece that ties our model together. We need it to project the Cash, Debt and Equity balances previously skipped.

Modeling the cash-flow statement is slightly different from the Balance Sheet and P&L. Specifically, one doesn’t usually start with a historical cash-flow statement, then project each line-item going forward. Rather we use the Cash Flow Statement to reconcile cash changes in the other two statements.
